The US government announced that it will deploy 1,200 National Guards to the United State’s southwest border with Mexico in order to reduce counts of illegal immigration and drug smuggling.

The border control plan was ordered by President Obama in May and deployment is scheduled for August 1.

US Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano announced that they will be supporting roughly 300 agents who will be patrolling the borders.

There will also be new forms of surveillance set up in areas where known criminal activity takes place.

Troops and security equipment will be placed along the borders of California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.

The program is costing roughly $600 million for a one-year period.

The National Guard will be deployed across four US states that border Mexico – Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas.

Illegal aliens are encouraged to hire immigration attorneys for help with securing legal status. With the controversy surrounding the proposed new law in Arizona that allows police officers to questions the status of those they believe to be illegally residing in the state as well as which prevents businesses and employers from hiring illegal immigrants, having legal representation is essential for those who do not have employment visas or permits to stay in the U.S.

Due to language barriers and fear of being arrested, many aliens do not seek help to obtain employment visas or residency. There are many options available for aliens and an immigration lawyer can help them to realize what needs to be done.

Attorneys will help their clients in every way possible, from securing legal status to helping them find jobs. If you are in need of legal assistance, get in contact with an immigration attorney immediately before it’s too late.
